When choosing a DSC keypad, you want to be sure to take into consideration what would be easiest for you and what would work best for your situation, now or in the future. If you do not have a wireless receiver, but would like to have a keychain remote or add wireless devices, make sure you get a keypad that had a built-in wireless receiver. By doing so, you will not need to buy an extra module later on.
If you want a keypad that will allow for easier programming and will display all kinds of information and have the ability to "custom label" your zones, you may want to look at the fully-alpha programmable keypads or the touchscreen (PK5500, RFK5500, RFK5564, or PTK5507).
The fixed keypads will display very little information and are more difficult to program your system with. You do not have the flexibility with a fixed keypad compared to a programmable keypad.
If you have the DSC Alexor or Impassa and would like additional keypads, you must use the DSC WT5500 keypads (WT5500 or if using a prox tag you need a WT5500P keypad)
