This newest addition to the Honeywell wireless family is a feature packed system that is easy to setup and control. It has a beautiful color touch screen interface that replaces the L3000's keypad. Through this graphical interface users experience intuitive touch icons that make programming a breeze. The icons and words on the vivid touch screen are large and easy to read.
The L5000 features a 64 zone capability over the L3000's 40 zone capability. You can fit more devices on this system than ever before! Besides the increased zone capacity; the L5000 now offers 8 more user codes than the L3000 making the total number of users able to arm/disarm the system to 16 users. The L5000 also stores more in the event log letting you view up to 128 separate past alarm events.
The L5000 has voice annunciation of all system and zone statuses. It features a message center that lets you leave messages for family or friends in case you can't be there to pass on those messages yourself. Because of the built in microphone for the message center users can record custom zone descriptions as well. The unit does come with pre-recorded zone descriptors just like the L3000.
The L5000 offers a "Follow Me" feature that allows the panel to call up to 2 phone numbers for self-monitoring. This means that if an alarm event occurs the panel will call your cell phone and speak what zone is being violated just like it does at the location. With the optional GSMVLP5 GSM communicator or the ILP5 IP communicator you can send signals to a central monitoring station. You can also, with these optional modules, use Honeywell's Total Connect service which lets you remotely control you system through your iPhone®, iPad®, BlackBerry® and Android
TM.
Not only does the new L5000 bring you all the features, but with the optional 5800ZBRIDGE Z-Wave adapter, you can bring home automation to a new level!! One current feature Honeywell has voiced is the ability for the L5000 to control thermostats with Z-Wave technology.
