The Pistol Pad by Tane

Tane has come out with another quality product that we think you gun enthusiasts will love!! This is essentially a panic button type setup but it is used to protect your other security system, your gun. The Pistol Pad by Tane will let you keep your firearm at the ready without the worries of your child or an intruder being able to tamper with it. The news has many stories of people getting shot with their own firearms by intruders or children accidentally shooting themselves with a gun that has been left within easy reach.

The Pistol Pad is a great resting place for your pistol and is great for preventing accidents that might occur. The base's internal compartment has a spot where you can put any wireless transmitter that can accept a normally closed 2 point wired device. After wiring the Pistol Pad's leads into the wireless transmitter and enrolling the transmitter into your alarm panel's programming section your ready to be protected.

On the base of the Pad is a circular key slot that you can use to disarm the Pad so you can remove your firearm without setting of the alarm. To arm and protect your pistol just run the wired contact through the trigger hole and turn the key to lock it into place. If someone tries to remove the gun without disarming the device first it will then send a signal to the control panel and an alarm event will occur. If you have central station monitoring service then you could set up a code for this zone that reads to the station that "A Gun Has Been Deployed" and the central station will in turn call the police. The Pistol Pad also has a tamper plunger on the bottom that, if the base unit is lifted, will also initiate an alarm condition.
